‘It’s an emergency’

Let’s be honest now, how many ’emergencies’ are genuinely of the cannot-wait, must-be-dealt-with-immediately kind? Sure, there are times when it is inconvenient to wait it out until you’ve saved cash to replace the washing machine for example. It might be downright difficult to get to the launderette and to forgo the previously taken-for-granted convenience of domestic laundry facilities, but it’s not impossible to do short-term. Oh, and as for the emergency night out with friends? Really?!
