‘Because I’m worth it’
It’s easy to use the ‘because-I’m-worth-it’ factor to reward yourself to the latest fashions, a special meal out or even a well-deserved holiday when you’re paying with the plastic. After all, you had a hard week at work, you got good grades in that exam, or you just needed cheering up. You can come up with no end of reasons to treat yourself but when these rewards accumulate debt in return, your worthiness becomes worthless instead. You’re worth more than an endless lifetime of credit card bills and interest repayments.
