A delightfully quick and simple twist on the old party favourites suited for lunch boxes and picnics, or even just to snack on. Be warned though, they are extremely more-ish!
Ingredients:
500g puff pastry
200g cheese
Method:
Preheat oven to 180ºC/350ºF/Gas Mark 4.
Grate cheese and set aside.
On a floured surface, roll out the pastry to a thickness of approximately ¾ of a centimetre.
Brush the entire surface of the pastry with water.
Sprinkle cheese over one half of the pastry surface. Fold remaining half over to cover the cheese. Roll again to a thickness of approximately 1cm.
Cut into strips measuring approximately 6″ x 1″ thick. Slightly twist each strip and place on a greased baking tray, ensuring enough space surrounds each strip to allow for expansion as it bakes.
Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden.
Transfer onto a wire rack to cool.
