Top Tips for Dating on a Budget

Living on a budget does not necessarily mean giving up the simple pleasures in life, and this includes dating. Whether you’re already in a relationship and wanting to keep that spark alive or scouring a Cumbria dating site to match me happy, there are ways you can enjoy a date or two without spending a fortune doing so.

A Romantic Picnic in the Park

With buds on the trees, flowers blooming and the warmer weather doing its best to break through, packing a picnic for a date in the park is one cheap but oh so very romantic date to take. Pack up a hamper of nibbles, a couple of drinks and a blanket and away you go. Fingers crossed the sunshine breaks through for you!

Check for Free or Cheap Local Deals

Many online coupon sites offer extremely cheap local deals for activities, food or treatments that you can take advantage of. Your local community might even have events that you can attend for free ranging from art exhibitions to amateur dramatic plays. Scour the local papers to find out what’s going on near you.

Attend an Open Mic Night

Open Mic Nights are held for a variety of events from concerts and gigs to stand up comedy shows. Okay, so you don’t know who you will end up with or how good they will be – or not – but it is still another way of making memories!

Cook a New Dish Together

Have a hunt around for some recipes online and create your very own three course menu together. If you both love cooking you will certainly enjoy it and if you don’t… well, I’m sure you will have a lot of fun trying!

Go on a Mystery Tour

How well do you know your local area? I mean, really know your local area? Why not grab a one day travel card and see where you end up? With no plans, no time limits, and no strategic plan whatsoever, just take off and go! Who knows what you will discover… or where!

Take a Hike

The beauty of hiking is that not only is it good both mentally and physically, but chances are you will (hopefully) have little reception for your mobile phone. This means no interruptions and no phubbing. You and your partner can enjoy a walk through nature, talk and reconnect and simply enjoy one another’s company.

Go Stargazing

Take a blanket out on a clear night, lie back and think of… stars. Not sure what you are looking at? There are apps that can help you work out the constellations above together. How much more romantic can you get than a night beneath the stars? You could even take a picnic and make it a proper date night.

Dating is not about how much money you spend but the memories you make with the one that you love.
