Buy only what you will use
According to WRAP.org.uk the average household in the UK throws out an average of £60 worth of food every month. That’s about 4.2 million tonnes of food and drink which is wasted annually. Fruit and vegetables don’t have a long shelf life so don’t overbuy and only purchase what you know you will use. Menu planning comes in handy when it comes to helping limit waste, which in turns saves a lot of money – over £720 a year if WRAP’s report is anything to go by.
